I love being rational. However, when SF becomes so rational that it attempts to quantify love, I start to feel uncomfortable. (See Manifold.love)

I enjoy building in AI. However, when everyone talks about launching the product even during intimate gatherings with friends, I feel discomfort.

I feel proud to work in big tech. But when people tell me capitalism is the best system while so many people are dying on the streets, I question if I would be proud of being a capitalist.

I love thinking about optimization. However, when people try to optimize so much that we don’t have time to support each other, I question whether I still want to chop my timetable all the time.

I love that everyone is constantly hacking. However, when it no longer connects to solving the problems others face, I question its meaning.

I believe technology will change the world. However, when technology becomes the only solution and the only thing that matters, I miss all the human aspects I used to see.

I love that people in SF believe they can positively impact millions of lives. However, when they can’t even properly take care of a person working with them daily, I’m unsure of the point.
